The Bad Grammar Bulletin for September 28th
Hello everyone! An uneventful week this week. That record story still exists, as much as I wanted it to have vanished without a trace like Brigadoon when I returned, and my car is slowly accumulating dollar CDs. Obie’s vocabulary is also growing at a terrifying rate. Mostly, he asks for food. His grandmother insists that she heard him demand “cheese” as clear as day.
I’ve also started experimenting with putting my own fiction up on Substack! I’m still figuring out the best way to handle everything, but for now I’m going to keep a firm split between the Bad Grammar Bulletin, which is mostly about bringing attention to other people’s work, and Brendan Detzner’s Weird Stories, which is mostly going to be about bringing attention to my own stuff. Lines may blur occasionally, but the BGB will continue to be free and its own thing for as long as I continue to do it. Hope you all dig it and thank you much as always for your support.
Got some good stories this week! We’ve got a haunted cab driver, some ill-advised polar exploration, and some teleporting cities from Hannah Yang in her second BGB appearance! Please enjoy.
“Lest We Become Monsters” by Matthew Owen Jones
“Brooklyn Beijing” by Hannah Yang
“Autogas Ferryman” by Champ Wongsatayanont
Be excellent to each other.
P.S. Writing music for the week is Anais Reno singing “Take Love Easy”.
